Skookum petshop is a family project. It was started by me, Lucas Stone, the son of a veterinarian. I grew up with a family culture that revolved around animals. We have had two horses,  three dogs, multiple turtles in our custom-built backyard pond, all sorts of freshwater fish and a lizard to boot. Add on top of this the time spent working for my mother in her mobile Veterinary practice, and you can see how close to home the pet Industry is for the Stone family. 

 

Our inaugural product line, Stone Jerky, pays homage to my father and his passion for cooking meats. After years of making loads of great homemade jerky (for our own consumption), we decided to quit seasoning the meat and give it to our dogs.
